Original Title: “Divorce Party”
“That’s my job to get the party started,” said Janice. And I could tell it was not me, but her who has had a tough week. At the chocolate manufacturing in the Mission, she swore to God, she’d been blessed to get an admin position there. It made her independent. She put on those stockings from Good Vibrations with a seam drawing, a thin delicate line going down the back of her legs. Her thrifted cowgirl boots gently tapped on the sparkly curb of Valencia street as we passed a taquería line. She tucked a studded local rock band tee into a short jean skirt. Looking like that, she wouldn’t fit into the up-tight San Francisco day crowd. But it was just right for the chilly mid-summer night clubbing in the City.”
